EXPLANATION OF CONDITIONS WE TREAT

Tendinitis is inflammation of the thick fibrous cords that attach muscle to bone. These cords are called tendons. The condition causes pain and tenderness just outside a joint. Tendinitis can occur in any tendon but it's most common around shoulders, elbows, wrists, knees and heels. Tendinitis can be caused by a sudden injury but most people develop tendinitis because their jobs or hobbies involve motions that they repeat, over and over.

TENDINITIS

Bursitis is a painful condition that affects the small, fluid-filled sacs called bursae that cushion the bones, tendons, and muscles near your joints. Bursitis occurs when bursae become inflamed. The most common locations for bursitis are in the shoulder, elbow, and hip.

Nerve pain presents itself in different ways. For some, it’s a stabbing pain. For others it’s a chronic prickling, tingling, or burning that lasts all day. Uncontrolled nerve pain can be hard to bear. But with treatment, it can often be controlled.

NERVE PAIN

Fibromyalgia is a chronic (long-lasting) disorder that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body, as well as fatigue and trouble sleeping. Scientists do not fully understand what causes it, but people with the disorder have a heightened sensitivity to pain.

FIBROMYALGIA

PTSD can cause a person to feel stressed and afraid after the danger is over. It affects your life and the people around you. PTSD starts at different times for different people. Signs of PTSD may start soon after a frightening event and then continue. Other people develop new or more severe signs months or even years later.

POST TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER (PTSD)

Arthritis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are among the most common causes of hip pain, especially in older adults. Arthritis leads to inflammation of the hip joint and the breakdown of the cartilage that cushions your hip bones. People with arthritis also feel stiffness and have a reduced range of motion in the hip.

HIP PAIN

Joint pain can be caused by a sudden injury, an overuse injury, or by an underlying condition, such as arthritis. Treatment will vary depending on the cause. Symptoms can include pain, swelling, and stiffness.

JOINT PAIN

Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve, which branches from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Typically, sciatica affects only one side of your body.

CRPS is a broad term describing excess and prolonged pain and inflammation that can occur following an injury or other medical event such as surgery, trauma, stroke, or heart attack. Although CRPS can occur anywhere in the body, it usually affects an arm, leg, hand, or foot.

COMPLEX REGIONAL PAIN SYNDROME (CRPS)

Someone with an anxiety disorder may respond to certain situations with fear and dread. They may also experience physical signs of anxiety, such as a pounding heart and sweating. It's normal to have some anxiety but an anxiety disorder goes beyond the regular nervousness and slight fear you may feel from time to time.
